If I found one on my patio, its poison wings might send me
to the Hospital or worse, unless I killed it first.
If not for its extinction, I shudder in my shoes to think,
if it had been allowed to live and flutter off my windowsill,
just who that moth might kill.
A diurnal lepidopteran is rare.
Most moths prefer the cool night air.
Sloane’s Urania was unusual.
It would sleep all night, even when the Moon was full.
